Ms. Mimi Kodheli was born in Tirana on September 11, 1964. She is married to Mr. Leka Kodheli and has a son, Mikel.
Ms. Kodheli holds a PhD in Economic Sciences from the University of Verona, Italy, in cooperation with the University of Tirana, Faculty of Economics since 2007. She has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Lincoln University, Nebraska (United States) in cooperation with the University of Tirana, earned in 2000 and a Bachelor degree in Finance from the University of Tirana, Faculty of Economics (1986).
Mimi Kodheli began her political engagement in 2002, when she was appointed deputy mayor of Tirana Municipality. In 2005, she held the office of the Prefect of Tirana Region and in 2009 was elected as a Member of the Assembly of Albania, additionally holding the office of the Vice Chair of the Committee of Economy and Finance throughout the legislature. She is member of the Socialist Party Chairmanship since 2007.
She has been trained in various fields, including international and securities markets, labour and investment markets, small and medium enterprises, banking examination and management. She participated in a US State Department Programme entitled “Women in Politics” and attended the programme for National Security Policies at Marshall European Centre for Security Studies.
Ms. Kodheli is fluent in English and Italian and has good knowledge of French and Spanish.
