Tepelena was reborn after many years in oblivion

The Urban Renaissance has given a whole new image to the city of Memaliaj. Thanks to this government project, the city square has been reconstructed and is entirely available to the citizens because no vehicles are allowed to pass through it. In addition, it has been equipped with greenery, benches, and the monuments of history of this region have been rehabilitated after many years in oblivion. Also, the facades of the eight buildings surrounding the square have been unified, and the square has been cladded with stones. The urban qualification of the entire downtown will be beneficial also to the local economy, especially to more than 20 businesses that operate in the city centre.

After many years without any investments, Tepelena will finally have a new multifunctional community centre. This centre is expected to be a major boost and support for all young people, and bring them even closer to sports and a healthy lifestyle. The centre, which is equipped with a five-a-side football field, the gym and other contemporary-standard environment, will offer young people alternative ways on how to actively spend their spare time.

The city of Tepelene and the surrounding areas will be finally connected to the coat, thus easing the transport for the residents of this areas but also for tourists. Works will start with the road of Kurvelesh, where no interventions have been made since 1983. In addition to connecting the city to the coast, this road will also help farmers reach more quickly and more easily the collections points for their products.

The entire area will become touristic thanks to the access to the coast, because people can come up here right from Borsh”, Prime Minister Rama said during an inspection tour to these sites. The Mayor of Tepelene said that the number of tourist has significantly increased this year. “Over 10 thousand tourist have visited this area”, Mayor Tërmet Peçi said.
