Prime Minister Edi Rama will take part in the EU–Western Balkans Summit, which will be held in Brussels on 16–17 December, with the participation of the leaders of the Western Balkans and the highest representatives of the European Union.
Prime Minister Rama will be welcomed at the Europa Building together with the other heads of delegations to take part, on Wednesday, in the plenary session titled “Deepening cooperation and advancing gradual integration, including ‘Roam Like at Home,’ as well as the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.” The session will be chaired by the President of the European Council, António Costa, with the participation of the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, and the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola.
The Summit aims to highlight the importance of political and economic relations between the European Union and its Western Balkans partners, particularly in the current geopolitical context and the need for increasingly strong ties between the EU and the Western Balkans.
Meanwhile, the European Union will reaffirm its full and unequivocal commitment to the European Union membership perspective of the Western Balkans, as well as the progress achieved in the enlargement process, as reflected in the latest report of the European Commission.
At the conclusion of the Summit, the EU–Western Balkans Summit Declaration will be published.
