A special exhibition featuring original works by the world-renowned artist Salvador Dalí has opened at the Centre for Openness and Dialogue (COD). Open to the public until 23 May, the exhibition marks an important cultural milestone for the country and a further step forward in promoting international art in Albania.
For the first time in Tirana, the exhibition presents an exceptional collection of works that have left a lasting imprint on the history of world art, offering a unique experience for both the public and the artistic community. Its realisation was made possible through close interinstitutional cooperation, professional dedication, and the sustained engagement of curators and international partners.

Prime Minister Edi Rama:
Today I chose to come here willingly and to speak briefly, because this exhibition represents a new high point for the Centre for Openness and Dialogue. The presence here of such an extraordinary collection of original works by an artist who has shaped the course of world art is truly something to celebrate.
This achievement is not accidental. It is the result of effort, goodwill, passion, and persistence. While Kristina’s thanks may be formal, I want to emphasise that this collection has come above all thanks to the persistence of Eridana, who led COD for several years. It was together with her that we first met Kristina here, at a time when bringing the collection was possible, although there were still understandable reservations regarding conditions and security.
As Kristina mentioned, behind her stands an Albanian woman who, in a way, played the role of a determined “pursuer,” ensuring that this project moved forward. Equally, I want to highlight the admirable work of Natalia. Installing an exhibition of this calibre is no easy task, and those familiar with this field understand exactly what that entails.
The exhibition is beautifully arranged, with every detail in place. Kristina’s words today regarding Natalia’s work were genuine. This is both the advantage and the risk of my position, receiving thanks that, if taken too seriously, may lead to misplaced self-perception.
As for the collection itself, it is truly outstanding. I am especially pleased that friends present here, starting with Professor Naxhiu, a distinguished master of expression on paper, as well as others, including my childhood friend Shpend Bengu, will appreciate this exhibition in a particularly meaningful way.
That said, this exhibition is open to everyone. But for those who have spent years immersed in drawing and artistic expression, this collection is, even if only for a moment, an invitation to paradise.
Enjoy this invitation. Thank you, Kristina, for taking this step. This exhibition will undoubtedly become part of the history of this institution.
My thanks also to your Albanian “shadow” and persistent supporter, to Natalia for her work, and to the entire COD team, whose professionalism made possible the installation of such a delicate exhibition.
Thank you all.
