Modern and innovative transformative projects, which will bring development not only to the areas where they are implemented but also more broadly, are increasing day by day.
Thanks to such a project, the Former Autotractor Plant will be revitalized to serve the Military Industry for the production of uniforms and the assembly of armored vehicles, artillery transporters, fire trucks, and ambulances.
Prime Minister Edi Rama, together with the Minister of Interior Ervin Hoxha and the Minister of Defense Pirro Vengu, met today with residents of Unit No. 1 in Shkozë to present to them the new project: the construction of a high-tech facility.
“This project involves a serious investment in modern and innovative technology for the production of military vehicles and high-quality uniforms for the Armed Forces and State Police. It results from a collaboration between the state-owned company Kajo and the company Timak. This is an important economic investment for the whole country, but for Unit 1, it is a transformative project that will bring development and create jobs, not only in specialized positions but also in support services, thus creating a development hub for the unit and a better future for many families in the area,” said Minister of Interior Ervin Hoxha.
Following this, Prime Minister Rama held discussions with residents about various issues and concerns raised by them.

Prime Minister Edi Rama:
Hello! I believe the minister has thoroughly explained the point, and I trust it is clear to everyone that this is an extremely positive development for our Armed Forces, for our national economy, and for the local community here. As part of the revitalization of the military industry in Albania, we have a number of projects aimed at rejuvenating old infrastructure that has been out of use, such as the structure here, or the infrastructure of the Rubik industrial complex, as well as other infrastructures around the country. Our goal is to build a complete domestic production network to meet the needs of our Armed Forces, our Police Forces, our Firefighters, and also for export.
This will lead to a significant and annual increase in the defense budget, which will go to stimulate our national economy. On the other hand, through the creation of these new links in the production chain, we will generate new job opportunities for technicians and high-level experts, and of course, we will also stimulate innovation and technology through this process. This is, more or less, the broader context within which this structure fits.
On the other hand, we will also begin investing in the production of clothing, military and police uniforms right here in our country. In this regard, we have all the capabilities to produce high-quality products, create jobs, and supply our Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies with top-quality, cost-effective uniforms. Moreover, we aim to create a manufacturing base that will also serve export production. So, in these thousands of square meters here, which, as we all see today, are completely out of use, we will create a space where there will be work, there will be an economy, and there will be development.
