Since September 2026, Dr Klodiana Spahiu holds the position of Minister of Health and Social Welfare.
She graduated in General Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tirana in 1997 and specialised in cardiology at the “Mother Teresa” University Hospital Centre. She further completed her professional training with advanced courses in non-invasive and invasive cardiology at university and hospital institutions in Italy.
Dr Spahiu has extensive experience as a cardiologist, as well as in the management of healthcare institutions. She has worked at the “Mother Teresa” University Hospital Centre and at Durrës Hospital, where she later also served as Director.
Alongside her medical practice, she has pursued an academic and teaching career at several higher education institutions in Albania. She has also completed postgraduate studies and a professional master’s degree in Health Management.
Dr Klodiana Spahiu holds the title of “Doctor of Medical Sciences”.
