Albanian Government Council of Ministers

Today, Albania celebrates the 113th anniversary of its independence and honors National Flag Day, a symbol of our historic journey, of the challenges we have overcome, and of the values that unite Albanians wherever they may be.

Following yearly tradition, celebrations were officially launched from Vlora with the state flag-raising ceremony, accompanied by the National Anthem and attended by the highest political figures of Albania and Kosovo, who paid tribute to the contributions of Albanian patriots to freedom and statehood.

A wreath of flowers was laid by Prime Minister Edi Rama at the monumental resting place of Ismail Qemali, in honor and respect for the sacrifices made for the ideal of a free and independent Albania.

November 28th, Independence Day, is a moment of reflection and a lasting reminder of the values of freedom, unity, and identity, which continue to guide Albania’s aspirations into the future.
