The relics (remains) of Saint Joan Vladimir were transferred to the Monastery of Saint Vladimir in the Elbasan during a ceremony today. The relics were kept as part of the National History Museum fund and they were handed over to the Monastery of Saint Vladimir in a ceremony held in cooperation with the Albanian Autocephalous Church in attendance of the Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Minister of Culture Elva Margariti.

“We came here at a longstanding invitation of the community to finalize a process we had embarked on together, namely the transfer of Saint Joan Vladimir’s relics, which were kept as part of the fund of the National History Museum. It is a symbolic gesture, because we have always been proud of the religious coexistence and the interaction between the state and the religious communities, but we didn’t want this relation to be limited in the restoration of the religious sites only, but also include transfer of the relics to be closer to the community,” Culture Minister Margariti said, pledging that cooperation with the community will go on.
