Prime Minister Edi Rama was welcomed today, during his visit to Israel, by the Speaker of the Knesset (Israel’s Parliament), Amir Ohana, at Knesset Plaza with a special ceremony, during which the national anthems of the two countries were played and the delegations were greeted by the honor guard.
Following this, Prime Minister Edi Rama, accompanied by his spouse Linda Rama, paid tribute at the Monument to the Fallen Soldiers and at the Monument to the Victims of Terror, two memorials of particular value and significance for the people of Israel, and also left his message in the Book of Impressions in the Chagall Hall.
“I can’t think of a greater honor and a more meaningful blessing than to write on this page as a special guest in this legendary house. Thank you.’’
The ceremony preceded Prime Minister Rama’s meeting with Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana, which will be followed by Prime Minister Rama’s address to the Knesset, in accordance with a special protocol that the Knesset has reserved for a limited number of foreign leaders and, most recently, for the U.S. President Donald J. Trump.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Linda Rama will hold a separate meeting with women members of parliament.
